  1. Small Business, Big Challenges event with the SOMA Chamber of Commerce

This is going to be a great event! Four terrific speakers will discuss things that matter to small business owners, and there will be many excellent vendors, too. 

The speakers include:

  • NJ Economic Development Agency - Discussing grant and loan programs for small businesses.

  • SCORE - SCORE’s mission is to foster vibrant small business communities through mentoring and education.

  • Jeremy Hirsh, Esquire - Staying out of trouble and making money

  • Annette DePalma, Maplewood Township - Doing business with your town

SAP has funds to help businesses with a cost share to power wash awnings and signs. We need to get a quote for all businesses looking to participate before we can provide the final cost share.

  1. 4. United Way of Newark Fall Food Truck Event in Maplewood applications open

From United Way: 

We’re excited to announce that vendor applications are now open for our first Maplewood Fest Fall Food Truck Festival, which will take place on October 19th from 12 PM to 5 PM! This is a fantastic opportunity for small businesses in the Greater Newark area to be featured in our Small Business Marketplace.

 

We’re looking for local vendors and artisans who want to showcase their products and services at this community event. We would love if you could share this opportunity with the chamber. Important Details:

Submission of an application does not guarantee participation.

Vendors are responsible for their own setup (tent, table, etc.).

The booth fee is $50 and must be paid within 7 days of approval.
